Help with Utility Bills

There are four agencies you may want to contact to find out what assistance may be available to help you pay your Augusta utility bills:

  • State Utility Commission - This office might offer payment plans to ease the burden in particularly hot or cold months and provide direct assistance to qualified applicants.
  • State LIHEAP Office - The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program to help eligible, low-income households meet their home heating and/or cooling needs.
  • State Human Service Agency - They may provide direct assistance to individuals in distress and referrals to additional local organizations that may be able to help you.
  • Administration on Aging (AOA) Eldercare Locator - This is a free service that can put you in contact with resources and programs designed to assist seniors in your area.
